The Valentine's Day Recipe Exchange

Thursday January 31, 2008
Legend has it that Valentino, a Christian priest, was consigned to a Roman noble by the Emperor Claudius. He cured the noble's daughter's blindness, at which point the family converted, and Claudius had them all executed. Valentino first, and on the eve of his execution he wrote the girl a letter, signing it "from your Valentine." After his death a pink almond tree, symbol of abiding love, blossomed near his grave.
A beautiful testament for the most romantic of days, and to give you some ideas for your Valentine's Day, we'll be making some suggestions over the next couple of weeks. We start with:

A Huge Chocolate Kiss: This Huge Chocolate Kiss, a large-scale version of the familiar Hershey's kiss candy, is perfect for Valentine's Day, when a small "kiss" just won't do.

Heart Shaped Pizza: Frozen bread dough makes this Valentine pizza recipe quick and easy.
