Ciliegie (Cherries), Anyone?
Monday July 7, 2008
The price of cherries has dropped considerably, making purchasing them much easier on the wallet. Obviously, the most satisfying thing to do is enjoy them as is, but you can also easily transform them into sherbet, or into a syrup that's perfect for making Italian Ices (or topping ice cream), and also set them aside for the winter months:
- Cherry Syrup: Perfect for making Italian Ices or pouring over ice cream, especially Vanilla or Chocolate.
- Cherry Sherbet: Quick, cool, and refreshing.
- Brandied Cherries: Wonderful when it's cold and the perfect holiday gift.
- Cherry Liqueur: Summer in winter, and another perfect holiday gift.
- Cherry Strudel: A tasty delight.
