To Recover From the Festivities

Thursday January 1, 2009
The worst thing about the Holiday Season is (for me) standing in front of the mirror and realizing how much I've gained. It's time for things that are light, and easy to digest. Broth, for example. Add a little pasta to it, or make stracciatella (Roman egg drop soup).

Pasta is out, as are hearty stews, but a deft Scaloppine al Marsala will be nice, as will whitefish with capers and tomatoes. Dessert? Oranges are wonderful at this time of year.
