It has been wet and cold of late, and while the snow I drove through on the way home from Verona yesterday will certainly perk up the skiing, the chill damp blanketing Tuscany today is anything but pleasant. Perfect weather for curling up by the fire with a good book, or setting a stew to bubbling on the stove. Some ideas:
- Brasato al Barolo: Rich, hearty, and tremendously satisfying braised beef.
- Arrosto Morto alla Bolognese: Chicken stewed with tomatoes and potatoes.
- Carne da Galera: Literally Jailhouse Meat, pork shoulderbut stewed with vinegar and herbs.
