The days are quite a bit shorter, but home gardens are still doing very well, and if you have a friend who is willing to share you're in for a treat!
These vegetables were grown a couple of summers ago by Giancarlo and Giovanna's son Bruno, who's gift baskets have become even richer and more varied since I took this shot. If I remember right, we fried the blossoms, and transformed the eggplant and the tomatoes into a huge pan of light Eggplant Parmesan, which vanished all too fast.

I love the bright colors in this photo. We did start growing some of our own veggies this year, and I’m glad we did. (Green bell peppers are $2 each where I live!)
2 dollars… each? Yikes! That’s outrageous.

What an artistic shot! We’ve had a brutal summer, so local produce has been in short supply. Maybe the fall gardens will fare better.
Even here in the United States some home gardens are still growing strong. I’m enjoying the last of the home-grown tomatoes. Yum! The photo looks like something worthy of being framed and put on a wall in a kitchen. The colors are gorgeous.
Beautiful photo. Our garden has been skimpy this year because of all the rain. I wish our produce looked like this.
Late summer vegetables around here didn’t do well either because the summer in the U.S. midwest was so brutal. But there is plenty of time for a fall garden of cima di rapa, lettuce, misticanza or even beets and turnips.
