Experience
Kyle Phillips was a former writer for The Spruce, contributing Italian recipes and food articles for almost 15 years. Though he always enjoyed cooking and fine wines, Kyle's professional interest in gastronomy was born out of his travel writing. He began stopping at wineries and restaurants wherever he happened to be—at first, to gather more information for travelers, and later to learn. Though Italy is one country, Kyle showed us it might better be seen as a collection of tiny states, each with its own history, culture, and cuisine.
Education
Kyle Phillips had a Bachelor of Arts degree in geology. His education in Italian cooking and wine came about informally as part of his travel writing.
Awards and Publications
His translation of Pellegrino Artusi's classic Italian cookbook was published as "The Art of Eating Well" by Random House in 1996. He was also the author of two blogs: the Italian Wine Review and Cosa Bolle in Pentola.
