Fig Ice Cream - - Gelato di Fichi

Fig Ice Cream, or Gelato di Fichi: A classic late summer delight. You'll need:

Prep Time: 1 hours,

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 14 ounces (350 g) perfectly ripe figs
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar or 1 tablespoon honey
  • The juice of a lemon

Preparation:

Peel the figs and blend the fig pulp with the lemon juice. Combine the milk with the sugar or the honey, and stir the mixture into the figs. Turn the mixture into the ice cream maker and make the ice cream.
