Savoy Chocolate - Cioccolata di Savoia

By Kyle Phillips, About.com

The House of Savoy ruled Piemonte before they became Kings of Italy, and considering the Torinese love of chocolate, it's natural that this sumptuous creamy dessert be named after them. To serve 4:
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 pound (100 g) baking chocolate
  • 4 demitasse cups of strong espresso coffee
  • 1 pint (500 ml) heavy cream
  • Powdered cinnamon and a few coffee beans
Preparation:
Shave the chocolate into a bowl, set a few of the prettiest shavings aside, and melt the remainder over a double boiler. Stir the hot coffee into it.

Beat 1/2 cup (125 ml) of the cream into the mixture and divvy it into four cups or pretty bowls. Whip the remaining cream and spoon it over the chocolate mixture. Decorate with powdered cinnamon, chocolate shavings, and coffee beans (one or two per bowl), and serve.
